His photos record the changes of nature and workers in everyday life. Among them, there are a series of photos about the mother-child love of birds that touch many people.
Photographer Quoc Dan said that discovering a bird's nest is luck, protecting and keeping the bird's nest intact is an indescribable joy for the photographer.
Normally, it takes 7 - 15 days for a hatched bird's nest to emerge (learn to fly).
“To this day, I can't remember how many bird nests I've photographed. But every time I take a photo of a mother bird feeding her baby, I have many emotions, from being nervous about how to take a beautiful photo, to feeling moved by the love between the mother bird and her baby bird.
The most touching scene is the scene where the mother and father birds come back and feed the baby birds. Then I went to the bathroom. The father and mother birds use their beaks to pick up their child's feces and throw them out of the nest," photographer Quoc Dan emotionally shared.
Artist Quoc Dan also said that expressing the love of a mother bird for her baby bird makes many people learn: "I personally feel that the feelings of the father and mother bird for the baby bird cannot be fully expressed. verbal. I feel that birds are more profound than humans. The father and mother birds are very shy when their chicks have not yet hatched. However, after the chicks are born, any animal that approaches will be swooped down to protect them."
Photographer Quoc Dan also shared that many times he had to "burst into tears" in disappointment when he took out his camera to take pictures and the nest of young birds "disappeared" after weeks of chasing. Nests of baby birds can be captured by humans or other predators, or destroyed by natural disasters.
“Many times I missed taking pictures of bird nests that I had hunted weeks or months before, when the parents first brought in trash to make their nests. A bird from birth to adulthood must go through many stages, parents cannot predict the risks in life.
There are bird nests under lotus leaves that are very sturdy and last until the chicks are born for 7 days. Suddenly, there was a heavy rain, the water in the lotus pond rose and flooded, killing the bird's nest. At that time I was really sorry. Or sometimes when I see children catching birds, I think about my own childhood. At that time, I felt very sorry and regretful," Mr. Quoc Dan confided.
Most recently, he followed a fantail nest for more than 10 days, taking photos from the time the bird laid eggs, incubated them, and hatched them for nearly a week in Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan district). The ginkgo bird's nest has 3 chicks and the mother bird diligently takes care of her chicks every day. But then, the bird's nest was destroyed, making him very sad.
“In the afternoon, I had just disassembled the machine, installed the tube and was about to press it when I saw the leaf fibers in the fiber nest. Suddenly I thought that the bird's nest had been eaten by something or taken by a child. When approaching the bird's nest and not seeing the 3 young birds anymore, I felt disappointed and indescribably sad.
This is a bird's nest that I really hope to take beautiful pictures of, watching the young bird grow day by day, hour by hour from still red to adulthood. Just hoping to see the bird grow up, spread its branches and fly away, but unexpectedly received a sad ending...", photographer Pham Quoc Dan said emotionally.
