Bach Ma National Park was established on July 15, 1991, and on January 2, 2008, the Park was expanded by 15,456 hectares, with a total area of 37,487 hectares located in the two provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Thua Thien Hue. Quang Nam. Currently, Bach Ma National Park's bird fauna has recorded 358 species, 186 breeds, 55 families and 15 orders. Species, breeds, and families are unevenly distributed in different bird orders. Compared to the bird list nationwide, the level of bird diversity in Bach Ma National Park is quite high. Here, the number of bird species accounts for 43.24% (358/828) of the total number of species, 67.90% (55/81) of the total number of families and 78.95% (15/19) of the total number of birds in the country. The diversity of the avifauna of Bach Ma National Park has the full diversity of the avifauna of the North Central region.

Of the total 358 bird species in Bach Ma National Park, 18 species are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and in the Vietnam Red List (2002), 26 species are listed in the List of plants and animals banned from trading and hunting. arrested by Decree 48/2002/ND-CP.
